Plant Care Instructions

We have had a lot of help compiling these plant care instructions. We have spent a great deal of time searching the internet, researching dozens of books and interviewing authorities in the field to compile the following plant care instructions sheets. We try to give credit where it is due but we have received care instructions from growers selling on ebay for years so it is not always possible to thank everyone. While everyone agreed on most of the care instructions featured here No One agreed on all of the information. So first, consider where you live and what you have had success with in the past and then grow from there. We will do our best to supply you with general care instructions for the species we sell such as pachypodium, succulents, agave, aloe, cactus, lithops, as will as some specific information for our area of the country. We are located in extreme southern California at about 1600 feet. The Sunset Western Garden Book says Zone 19. It's a tough climate for potted plants outdoors, with hot dry summers and occasional hard freezes in the winter, so don't just assume we have it all right. We Do Not use a greenhouse, all of our plants are grown outdoors, year round with the exception of a few that can't handle anything close to a freeze and these just get a dark, cold spot in my garage. We grow stock from seeds, traditional cuttings, hydroponics clones and we are even toying with the idea of starting a "Super Clone" operation using the latest tissue culture technology. We hope you find these growing instructions helpful, if you would like to share your expertise with us feel free to send your favorite succulent or cactus species care instructions to me at plantguy@showquality plants.com. If we use them we will be sure to give you credit and a link back to your website and send you a nice gift as well.
